What goes on is most of the constant players join the blue team. I know combat makes less xp, but they use combat to shut down the other team. They have meleers and magers. The magers go to the red base and stop anyone coming out of there. The meleers go from barriered area to barriered area destroying them until everyone spawns at the base which the magers are keeping trapped.
What to do about it? Doom Patrol's job is the combat. The Cave is nice, so we don't want to shut anyone down unless they're actually doing this, so the first game we play, the job is to get runes and daggers to the base, so when we all get trapped there, you can take some and do some damage. Of course if you kill anyone outside the red base, they will spawn at the blue base and have the whole board to leisurely stroll across and building up their resources. Withdrawing a class 5 dagger costs 150 points (30 points per class). You have to do 300 points of damage to make that back. It would be better to escape and kill the cleanup crew wandering around, not the heavy hitters at the red base. If they get us trapped, you need to set up a base near their base and defend it. Keep no new spawns from getting away.
After the first game, you already know whats going to happen, so you need to shut them down before they get started. They usually spring the trap at the 2 minute mark. You don't want the other team to know what you're doing, so any communication to our team would be when we first spawn in, and everyone's at the base. You would prep your messages and tell them to get runes and daggers to the base.
After red wins the first game, everyone will want to join red. You might want to do a skip a game pattern.
